Rant's songwriting is full of imagery and simplicity yet his themes are often complex as well as extremely clever! Rant's singer songwriter style can be compared to a hybrid of artists such as Hawksley Workman, XTC, Jon Anderson, Sting, James Blunt, Jack Johnson, Keane, Fallout Boy, The Killers and many other artists. Why so many influences? Being an engineer, Rant is constantly listening to as much music as he can in order to stay current and keep his ears tuned in. Great singer songwriters are extremely rare. Most singer songwriters are either stronger as a singer or as a songwriter. Rant has strength as both singer and songwriter, much like Sting is a great singer songwriter. Sting's lyrics are always clever and his voice always distnct. What's great about Rant is that this is his debut CD and we know his singing and his voice will improve still! We also are sure his songwriting will develop to full maturity and we look forward to many years of Rant's music.
